What would you do....

"When you get those rare moments of clarity ~ those flashes when the universe makes sense ~ you try desperately to hold on to them. They are the life boats for the darker times when the vastness of it all, the incomprehensible nature of life is completely illusive.
So the question becomes, or should have been all along......... What would you do if you knew you only had one day, or one week, or one month to live. What life boat would you grab on to? What secret would you tell? What band would you see? What person would you declare your love to? What wish would you fulfill? What exotic locale would you fly to for coffee? What book would you write?"

To strive...
to seek...
to find...
and not to yield.

As barrowed from the movie ~ One Week.

I met someone.......

Yes.  I met someone and had our first date last Friday.  I went on the assumption it would be nice to get out of the house and sidetrack myself from all the fucken bullshit I've been going through.  So we met at McCormick & Schmidst. Yes. I did order a drink - Lemonball Martini (just in case you're wondering, no, I just had one sip).

Well I'm not just a schmoozier for sappy talk, but lets facec it - Yes.  He was genuinely heartfelt at his writings. So we went on the first date.  He walked me to my car and we both felt we were having a great time and decided to go dancing!  Yes! Dancing!!!!  It was pretty cool.  We went to an Irish Pub that plays live music on Friday nights.  Nooooo........ I didn't have any drinks.... oh yes I did!  I had cold water!!! Mmmmmm!!   Soon our night came to an end.

Our second date followed the next night.  We went to a jazz club in Fullerton.  The live band was fabulous!  We sat through both sets until it was time to leave.  We bid our ado's goodbye for the time.   By now, he sorta captured my interest.  I woke up Sunday morning thinking about our date the night before.  I felt it would be nice to see him today, but I didn't want to call him and suggest it.  I don't want to fuck anything up or ruin a decent friendship in the proess.  So I went about my day.

He called me that afteroon.  Asked if he could see me that evening.  I agreed.  To make a long story short, I cancelled with him so that I could drive with my GF Maria to Tarzana.  She was not feeling it and wanted company.  I felt.... she was way more important at that moment and she needed me the most.   So as I was about to call him, he called first to confirm.  He was taking care of some items for Mom and they were going to have dinner together.  It worked out perfect for the both of us!!!

My life will continue without you

Just a day or two prior to meeting you, I was devastated - at my very lowest. When we first met, I thought it's was the begining of a new life for me.  You came into my life when I was at my absolute lowest.  It was only 5 days after the turn style of my life.  As my one year anniversary approaches, you're far away from my every day lif,  but yet, I do think of you every now and then. I am thankful you were there for the short while to help me through some rough days.

I remember the many smiles and abundant laughter you and I shared.  Holding my breathe, you helped me to breathe again and feel alive.  I thank you for that.

My Baptism

My Baptism
at
Heisler Park
Laguna Beach, Ca

Pastor Carmen

Today was a beautiful day!  Once again, it was a turning point in my life. I was baptised today by Pastor Carmen.  As I was being baptised, I dedicated the ceremony for my beautiful sister, Sylvia.  May the dear Lord bless her and guide her through her difficult journey.

In my days..... It's great to be alive!

This is the weather as we arrived at the beach.  We had no clue where to find the congregation as the fog was so dense.

We let the power of prayer be our guide
As we kept walking... we could see in the distance
We both knew we were at the right place
As we watched.... waiting our turn
 Me and Pastor Carmen Rieg

Amen

The Baptism

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…"
—Jesus, Son of God
  • Is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit for Everyone? To do God's work, we need God's power. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is for all who believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, and who are children of God through Him (see Acts 2:38–39).
  • What Is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit?  The baptism of the Holy Spirit occurs when the Spirit of God comes upon a believer. The Holy Spirit fills the believer's mind with a genuine understanding of truth, takes possession of the believer's abilities, and imparts gifts that qualify the believer for service in the body of Christ. When a person accepts Jesus Christ as his or her Savior and Lord, the Holy Spirit dwells inside him or her (see John 14:15–17; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 12:13). But believers also need the baptism of the Holy Spirit (see Acts 1:5–8).
  • Why We Need the Baptism of the Holy Spirit  The purpose of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is to empower believers for service, to witness, for spiritual warfare, and for boldness in their testimonies (see Acts 1:8; 4:19–20, 29–31; 6:8–10; 1 Corinthians 2:4).  Jesus commanded the disciples not to begin the work to which He called them until they were baptized in the Holy Spirit (see Luke 24:48–49; Acts 1:4, 8). When the apostles met other believers in Christ, they at once asked whether the believers had received the Holy Spirit. If not, they made sure they received Him (see Acts 8:14–16; 19:1–5).   The baptism of the Holy Spirit is an absolute necessity in every Christian's life for the service to which God has called us.
  • How to Receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit Jesus said, "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!" (Luke 11:13). God fulfills His promises in a variety of ways, and no two human beings are alike in how they receive spiritual things.  The New Testament tells us that some believers received the baptism of the Holy Spirit at the moment of their conversion, such as Cornelius and his family (see Acts 10). Others, such as the believers in Ephesus, received it at a later time (see Acts 19:1–5). We should never limit God by our own expectations. He is sovereign and will work in whatever way He chooses.
